Emergency Contacts
Write these down by hand. When power is out, your phone is dead, and the internet is down, paper doesn't need batteries.
Why write it down?
During Hurricane Katrina, 90% of cell towers failed. In the 2003 Northeast blackout, people couldn't access digital contacts for days. Keep printed copies in your go-bag, car, and taped inside a kitchen cabinet.
Instructions
Fill this out by hand using a pen. Make 3 copies: one for your go-bag, one for your car, and one stored at home. Update every 6 months or when contact info changes.
Why out-of-area? Local phone lines may be jammed, but long-distance calls often work. This person coordinates your family if you get separated.
